Netflix’s ‘365 Days’ Sequel: Release Date and More

Netflix's '365 Days' Sequel: Release Date and More

Netflix may have released many extremely guilty pleasures in 2020, but perhaps the most guilt-inducing was 365 Days, its sub-50 Shades thriller about a woman who is kidnapped by a man who gives her a year to fall in love with him.

365 Days (or to use its original title, 365 Dni) may have had the year’s ickiest premise, but that didn’t stop a world full of people stuck in their homes from enjoying the film’s many silly, steamy sex scenes – and it didn’t stop it from becoming one of the streamer’s most-watched (and controversial) films.

365 Dni was such a success, in fact, that it spawned a sequel, 365 Days: This Day, which has a Netflix release set for this April. Key cast members are set to return, with source material author Blanka Lipinska promising “a very hot movie” with “more sex scenes” (per Oprah Daily).

While we wait for the film to come out to see if it has anything that matches that yacht sex scene from the first movie, here is what you know about the release date, cast, trailer and plot of the 365 Days sequel.

When Does 365 Days: This Day Come Out?

The Netflix release date for the movie is Wednesday, April 27, with the movie expected to come to the streamer at midnight PDT.

When This Day comes out where you are will depend on your time difference with America’s West Coast, which is currently seven hours behind GMT / UTC. In the lead up to the new movie coming out, the original 365 Days is streaming on Netflix globally, giving fans a chance to rewatch it before the sequel comes out (or just rewatch the yacht scene again and again).

Who Is in the Cast of the 365 Days Sequel?

The main players of the first film are returning, led by Anna-Maria Sieklucka as Laura and Michele Morrone as her kidnapper-turned-captor-turned-lover-turned fiance Massimo.

Also returning are Laura’s best friend Olga (Magdalena Lamparska) and Massimo’s trusted lieutenant, Domenico (Otar Saralidze).

As for new cast members, Simone Susinna joins the cast as Nacho, a new man with eyes for Laura – though whether he will try to win her heart through kidnapping or more conventional means remains to be seen.

365 Days fans may remember Susinna as the man who briefly sparked gay rumors about co-star Morrone after the pair posted an image of them with their arms around each other on social media. Morrone clarified: “He became a very good friend of mine, we’re like brothers. We’re shooting a movie together. Guys, it was just a picture. Nothing more.”

What Will Happen in 365 Days: This Day?

The official Netflix summary reads: “Laura and Massimo are back and hotter than ever. But the reunited couple’s new beginning is complicated by Massimo’s family ties and a mysterious man who enters Laura’s life to win her heart and trust, at any cost.”

Netflix's '365 Days' Sequel: Release Date and More

In a piece for Netflix, author Lipinska said: “This Day offers a fresh look at Laura’s character, she’s matured and there’s definitely some surprises. This instalment goes much deeper and tells us more about the relationship between the lovers. She’s stronger in this sequel.”

All of which skirts around a pretty big plot detail revealed in the trailer and first-look images for the film – that it looks set to feature Laura and Massimo’s wedding. How exactly the entrance of Nacho will jeopardize that, however, will be revealed in the film.
