Brad Miller hit a two-run single in the tenth inning to give the Texas Rangers a 2-1 win over the Philadelphia Phillies on Wednesday night.
Marcus Semien multiplied and had two hits for the Rangers, who have won a season-high four straight in the wake of clearing the two-game series with the Phillies.
Scratch Castellanos multiplied and had three hits for Philadelphia. The Phillies have lost four of five since a four-game series of wins.
Philadelphia's Zack Wheeler and the Rangers' Martin Perez each were heavenly in beginning jobs. Matt Bush (1-1) was given the success in the wake of getting the last out.
“He’s so gritty and gutty you know you were going to get something out of him there,” Rangers manager Chris Woodward said of Miller.
Castellanos went to second base instead after the double, but the inning ended when Bryce Harper followed with a flyout to left field.
