2020 season – In January 2020, Blake Corum applied to the University of Michigan. Corum received praise for his 4.4 40-yard sprint time and 4.0 grade point average in his first semester at Michigan. Corum played in five games as a true freshman, rushing for 50 net yards on average at 2.2 yards per carry.
2021 season – Sports Illustrated predicted that Corum would have a breakout year before the 2021 season. Corum gained 282 yards on 35 carries in the first two games of the 2021 campaign. He gained 141 rushing yards on average per game and added five receptions for 33 yards. He recorded a career-high 171 running yards and three touchdowns against Washington, including a 67-yard touchdown run. Along with leading the country in all-purpose yards with an average of 221.5 per game, he also had 128 yards on kickoff returns.
Corum became the first Michigan athlete to accomplish this accomplishment since Denard Robinson in 2011 and the first player to earn 100-plus yards running in three straight games when he recorded his third straight 100-yard rushing game on September 18.
