    Kyle was reared in Alexandria, Virginia, after being born in Bridgeport, Connecticut, on July 1, 1983. He majored in art history while he was a student at the College of William & Mary. He was admitted to the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA) in London after studying there for a semester during his third year of college. He travelled to London to finish his studies at RADA after leaving the College of William & Mary. Actress Phoebe Fox, whom Kyle met at RADA, is his wife.

    Following his graduation from RADA in 2008, Soller appeared in a number of plays. However, it was in 2011 when he made his breakthrough, appearing in The Glass Menagerie at the Young Vic, The Government Inspector at the Young Vic, and The Faith Machine at the Royal Court Theatre. He received the Evening Standard Theatre Award for Outstanding Newcomer as a result of these performances. In 2012, Soller appeared in two successful productions: the Roundabout Theatre Company’s Cyrano de Bergerac at the American Airlines Theatre in New York as Christian and the West End smash A Long Day’s Journey into Night by Eugene O’Neill with David Suchet, Laurie Metcalf, and Trevor White at the Apollo Theatre.

    Soller played Mr. Schwimer, the new teacher, in the BBC Three comedy Bad Education. Francis, Ross’s cousin, was a character he played in the 2016 episodes of Poldark on BBC One, and Clifford was a character he played in The Hollow Crown. In the comedic drama You, Me and the Apocalypse on Sky 1, he played Scotty, an expert on apocalypses. He made an award-winning BBC version of Helen Edmundson’s An Inspector Calls in 2015, playing Gerald Croft. He appears in the Disney+ series Star Wars: Andor in 2022.
