O Yeong-Su made his acting debut in 1963 as a member of the “The Square” theatre group. From 1987 to 2010, he was a member of the National Theater Company of Korea, where he collaborated with actors including Jang Min-ho, whom he regards as his mentor. He has performed many plays throughout his career, including A Streetcar Named Desire, The Merchant of Venice, and A Confession for a Black Prostitute. O claims that by 2013, he had participated in more than 200 productions.
