Motivation
After seeing her alcoholic father assaulting her mother everyday, Viviane Araujo began playing soccer and spent a lot of her time away from home to forget about issues there. After receiving an invitation from a jiu jitsu coach, she later began training and fell in love with the discipline. She eventually switched from mma to teaching jiu jitsu because she was sick of seeing her father mistreat her mother. Araujo utilises the octagon as a platform to express her support for domestic violence victims.
UFC Career
The majority of Arajo’s early MMA fights took place in Brazil and Japan, particularly for Jungle Fight and Pancrase, where she held the title of official strawweight champion before being signed by the UFC.
