Arnold Allen made his professional debut as a featherweight in Great Britain for a number of regional promotions, including a spell in Cage Warriors. Along the process, he was able to accumulate a 9-1 record in his first three seasons. Allen joined the UFC after defeating Paul Cook in November 2014 by TKO.
After entering a guilty plea to affray for his part in a fight on December 23, 2016, near Ipswich, which resulted in the injuries of a man and five women, Allen was given a five-month suspended sentence. As a result of the conviction, Allen can experience travel restrictions.

At UFC Fight Night 84 on February 27, 2016, Allen took on Yaotzin Meza. He received a unanimous decision victory. At UFC 204, Allen was scheduled to compete against Mirsad Bektic on October 8, 2016. Allen, however, withdrew from the bout due to an injury, and Russell Doane took his place. On March 18, 2017, at UFC Fight Night 107, Allen faced Makwan. The outcome of the contest was divided.
On January 20, 2018, Arnold Allen was slated to compete against Enrique Barzola at UFC 220. On January 11, Allen was allegedly forced to withdraw from the fight because of visa complications that made it difficult for him to travel. After this declaration, it was decided that Matt Bessette would take Allen’s spot at UFC 220.
