At the age of 19, Sergey Spivak made his professional mixed martial arts debut in September 2014 with the Ukrainian promotion Real Fight Promotion. Andrey Serebrianikov was the first foe he faced. By TKO in the waning seconds of the opening frame, he prevailed.
In his second match, he competed in the main event against Evgeniy Bova for the Ukrainian-based World Warriors Fighting Championships at WWFC Ukraine Selection 1. Spivak used a kimura to win the match in the opening frame.
At the age of 23, Sergey Spivak made his UFC debut during UFC Fight Night 151 against Walt Harris, taking Alexey Oleynik’s place. He received his first career-opening professional setback. Sergey was forced up against the cage by Harris, who then disoriented him with a left straight before dropping him to the ground with a barrage of knees. The referee declared Harris the winner after 50 seconds via technical knockout after a sequence of grounded blows.
Tom Aspinall and Spivak were scheduled to square off on October 11, 2020 at UFC Fight Night 179. Spivak, however, withdrew from the fight for an unknown cause, and Alan Baudot, a promotional newbie, took his place.
At UFC 256, Spivak was supposed to take on Jared Vanderaa on December 12, 2020. Nevertheless, Vanderaa had to be removed after testing positive with COVID-19 during fight week. On September 4, 2021, Tom Aspinall, who had taken Sergei Pavlovich’s place, faced Spivak at UFC Fight Night 191. In round one, he was defeated via technical knockout. In place of Aleksei Oleinik, Spivak was supposed to fight Greg Hardy on January 22, 2022, at UFC 270. However, Hardy pulled out of the fight a week before the event because of a finger injury, and the bout was thus cancelled. The two were transferred to UFC 272.
